in the morning it's a family affair. everybody is on the lawn with picnics and it's free. anybody can come out. it's a great way to spend a sunday. >> goes to 1-2 in the afternoon and runs until 5. [music]. thanks to the stern grove association they renovated the concert meadow. it used to be a rolling grafsy area. put in a new stage and stage building. they put in terraces. we get from 8,000 to 12,000 people. and the meadow next to the concert meadow is full of people even though they can't see the music they hear it. i walked into the meadow several times and they don't even care. we do have literally events going on day and night. the concert association has kids days during the week. the performers come out for hundred 200 kids. now, the truckadero truck house gets rented out for weddings and retirement. the croquet clubs and horse shoes. 2 play grounds, tennis courts. we have from 25 to a hundred dogs here. it's like bisons going across the mid west. there are so many dogs they are covering the ground cht it's a get together. all the dog walkers know each other. if you go to pine lake da

the recreational areas are heavily used on weekends. we have the group picnic area which should accommodate 200 people, tennis courts are full. it also has 3 playground areas. the ampitheater was built in 1972. it was the home of the first blues festival. given the fact that jerry garcia used to play in this park, he was from this neighborhood, everybody knows his reputation. we thought what a great thing it would be to have an ampitheater named after jerry garcia. that is a name that has panache. it brings people from all over the bay area to the ampitheater. the calls that come in, we'd like to do a concert at the jerry garcia ampitheater and we do everything we can to accommodate them and help them because it gets people into the park. people like a lot of color and that's what they call a park. other people don't. you have to try to reconcile all those different points of view. what should a park look like and what should it have? should it be manicured, should it be nice little cobblestones around all of the paths and like that. the biggest objective of course is getting people into the pa

the best part of our lives. things that weren't costing money to do, you would go to a picnic on the beach or you would do something in the woods. my favorite of all is in the staircase. it's almost a miracle masterpiece how he could manage to not only fit everyone, of course, a lot of them i recognized from my childhood -- it's how he juxtaposed and managed to kind of climb up that stairway on either side very much like you are walking down a street. it was incredible to do that and to me, that is what depicted the life of the times in san francisco. i even like the ones that show the industrial areas, the once with the workers showing them in the cannery and i can remember going in there and seeing these women with the caps, with the nets shuffling these cans through. my parents had a ranch in santa rosa and we went there all summer. i could see these people leaning over and checking. it looked exactly like the beautiful things about the ranch. i think he was pretty much in the never look back philosophy about the coit. i don't think he ever went to visit again after we moved from telegr

. >> or out at a picnic today. it's gorgeous outside all around the bay area. enjoy it things going to be changing rapidly now as we head into the next couple of days. but a little hazy sunshine out over the bay. we are looking good as we sail into the afternoon. lots of sunshine for everyone even out toward the coastline and these temperatures again heating up in a hurry. it's 78 degrees in san jose already. 78 in livermore. 74 degrees in san francisco. and 74 degrees in concord. looking toward the coastline, still clear of fog. that will likely change though toward tomorrow. so sunshine, near record temperatures maybe a couple of records out there, and then tonight mostly clear in the valleys but looks like some patchy coastal fog will begin to develop and major changes the next couple of days. so high pressure holding on for one last day. you can already see this trough in the gulf of alaska. eventually that works its way in our direction but at least one more day of sunshine and maybe a couple of records, as well. if we hit that we could hit a couple of spots especially looking

for parks and facilities and browse for events and volunteering and reserving a picnic area and donating more easier. you can research 45 pieces of public art located in golden gate park. we are grateful to our partner in this. they did this as a national demonstration project and used our agency as the model, and further stages of further development of this app will allow people to interface with three one one so they could log issues and concerns that they see in our parks and we will eventually enable people to purchase tickets online or using the mobile phone and we are thankful to them for that and you can go to our website and download the app. it's very easy, just one click and we think park users will enjoy it a great deal. so we have two certificates and i am keeping my eye on the clock for the magic 1018. first we have betty trainer and a champion of one of the city parks located in the heart of a challenging neighborhood in district six, boeddeker park. betty is a tireless advocate for bo decker and for boeddeker park and organized efforts for clean up days for the comm
